UK JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL
We are delighted to highlight the incredible films heading to Nottingham as part of the 22nd UK Jewish Film Festival this November. “THE TESTAMENT” and “HUMOR ME” are showing at Broadway Cinema, Nottingham on Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 November respectively.
THE TESTAMENT, the directorial debut of AMICHAI GREENBERG, explores the tragedy of family relationships. This gripping drama depicts the futile search for truth: while meticulously putting together a case against Holocaust deniers, Orthodox historian Yoel (ORI PFEFFER,_HACKSAW RIDGE_) unearths evidence that calls into the question the identity of his own mother (RIVKA GUR,_ EPILOGUE_).
HUMOR ME, another film from a first-time director, SAM HOFFMAN (OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES), is a gently poignant comedy which follows the tribulations of Nate (NICK KROLL, _THE LEAGUE_, _KROLL SHOW_) a man beset by midlife crisis: a once-promising playwright and recent
divorcé, Nate finds himself – literally and figuratively – at the New Jersey retirement home where his father (the iconic ELLIOT GOULD) resides.
